Interview With Eric Dye
Eric Dye and I recently sat down and had a chat about all things Christianity and blogging. Eric is the editor in chief of Churchm.ag (and my editor for the posts I write for them) and currently lives in a little village in Italy with his wife and kids. If you want to find out more about him then head over to Ericdye.it or you can find him over at finding justice, or check out some of his photos from his Italian life at dyecasting.it
In our chat I asked Eric some of the typical questions such as
- How did you become a Christian?
- How did you start blogging?
But we also discussed some things that Eric has fairly unique experience in, such as how is it different being the editor of a group blog rather than blogging alone. What it feels like to get paid for blogging and what it feels like paying people for their writing.
Eric’s Top Tip For A Blogger
It’s a marathon and not a sprint but you need to be consistent. Decided on a schedule and stick to it. When you have inspiration write a bit more and when you are drained and weak then write less. But at the end of the day, when it’s time for a post, you’ve got to have a post.
The most important factors are:
- The quality of the content
- The consistency of the content
- The ability to stick it out.
If you can, get ahead in your writing so you don’t have the pressure of writing on that day.
Come back a day or two later if you can,
